Dr. Stephen grew up in south central Iowa near the small town of Lacona where her parents owned a dairy farm.  They also had beef cattle, crops and hogs.  She received her undergraduate education at Iowa State University before obtaining her medical degree at the University of Iowa.  She trained at Iowa Lutheran Hospital in Des Moines before joining the Family Practice Center faculty.  Her clinical interests include sports medicine, obstetrics and adolescent medicine.  In her spare time, she enjoys early morning runs, fishing and racquetball.
