Dr. Lavadie-Gomez grew up in Taos, New Mexico and is the eldest of four children. She attended the University of New Mexico from 1995-1999 and has also traveled extensively in Mexico and parts of Guatemala.

Her special interests include Latino health care, Geriatrics and Women and Children's Care.

She is married to Zeferino and has a boisterous puppy named "CC." In her spare time she enjoys cooking, sewing, running, swimming, tailgating for the Hawkeyes, and playing Frisbee golf.
